Preparation of a client’s account, designing an accounting system, account codes, opening Balances, writing and posting of daybooks from invoices and other accounting source documents, bank reconciliation, accruals and prepayments, journals, control accounts, debtors and creditors schedules, trial balance, profit & loss and balance sheet.  

 

The above includes the maintenance of Sales ledger/Purchase ledger and Nominal ledger

 

Note:
This workshop is not textbook accounting. It is how accounts are prepared at work. Delegates must have knowledge of accounting theories. It is designed for those who have never worked in an accountancy capacity and those who although are working in those capacities have never had the opportunity to prepare accounts from source documents to the Balance sheet.

 

                                                                                                       

Accounts Preparation (Computerised Accounting - Sage50 Professional)

Preparation of a client’s account, what is computerised accounting, installation and setup, designing of account codes and using your own codes, opening balances, writing of daybooks, sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger. trial balance, profit & loss and balance sheet, generating management information and VAT returns, Budgets, variances and departmental analysis, month end and year end procedures, generating sales invoices and credit notes.

 

Note: This workshop is for those who know how to prepare accounts practically from source documents to the Balance sheet. It is important that those who do not have work experience in preparing accounts attend the Financial Accounting workshop first. Computerised packages are just tools to speed up accounts preparation; hence delegates need to have a good understanding of the entries that the packages pass.

 

Accounts Preparation (Excel) including Advanced Excel

How to use a spreadsheet to prepare a client’s accounts using an Extended Trial Balance. It includes:

Writing of daybooks;

Journals, Profit & loss account and Balance sheet;

Importing and exporting data from computerised accounting packages;

Macros and Graphs;

Data management and Data analysis including Pivot tables;

 

Note:
This workshop is for those who know how to prepare accounts practically from source documents to Balance sheet. It is important that those who do not have work experience in preparing accounts attend the Financial Accounting workshop first. Spread sheets are time saving tools. They are normally used by accountants to compliment accounting packages, hence delegates need to learn it the way accountants use it.
